Velasquez and
Nogueira were originally slated to fight at UFC 108 but a staph
infection sidelined Rodrigo Nogueira from trainign, causing him
to withdraw from the fight.
This fight is very
important for both fighters in order to move up the HW ladder
for a title shot. Nogueira is coming off a very impressive
unanimous deicsion win over Randy Couture at UFC 102. While
Velasquez also looked superb, showing off his dominant wrestling
and ground & pound with a second round stoppage over Ben
Rothwell at UFC 104.
Plus, UK superstar Michael “The Count” Bisping hopes to spoil
the middleweight debut of the legendary ‘Axe Murderer’,
Wanderlei Silva. UFC 110: Nogueira vs. Velasquez, Saturday,
