Former Middleweight Champ Rich “Ace” Franklin continues his rise back to the top by taking on Japanese superstar Yushin Okami. Rich “Ace” Franklin is a well rounded fighter with amazing standup. He has knocked out the likes of Nate Quarry and Jason MacDonald.
Okami is coming off a solid Unanimous decision outing against Mike Swick and holds a 20-3 mma record. Yushin Okami comes at his opponents, gets them on the ground and pounds the living crap out of them. He has even beaten the man who took Franklin’s title away at UFC 67 Anderson Silva.
This fight will most likely determine the number 1 contender to face the winner of Anderson Silva vs. Nate Marquardt (fight takes place July 7th at UFC 73 live from the Arco Arena in Sacramento California).
