BJ Penn vs Jens Pulver II

It has taken over five years, but on Saturday, June 23 at 9:00pm BJ Penn finally gets his rematch. The Ultimate Fighter 5 coaches and former UFC champions, Penn (10-3-1) and Jens Pulver (21-6-1) step back into the Octagon together for a rematch nearly a half a decade in the making at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV.

BJ Penn vs Jens Pulver II - These guys do not get along at all. Back on January 11, 2002, Jens "Lil Evil" Pulver did something at UFC 35: Throwdown that no other lightweight had been able to do. He defeated "The Prodigy", B.J. Penn. Now he's looking to do it again, Of course, B.J. Pennlikely has other plans.

Pulver & Penn have been coaching TUF 5 and they have been close to blows on several occasions. We can finally see them in the octagon on 23rd June 07.

Jens Pulver’s longtime manager, confirmed on the radio earlier this week that Pulver will be switching over to the WEC in order to compete in their featherweight division later this year.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is a test of pure gladiator fighting skills. The fight occurs inside an octagon that is 32 feet across. The fighters are contained by a 5 foot link fence. Most participants have martial arts training in some discipline, however, this is by no means a requirement. It has a no holds barred philosophy although some rules have been added recently.

Although there can be a lot of blood, fights usually end with joint locks or choke holds and it is generally the more skilled opponent that wins. Size is an advantage, but skill in ending the fights with a finishing move (choke out, joint locks, etc.) are the best.
